Duty to Report Letter

Within our school system, every person who has reason to believe that a child is or may be abused or neglected must report his/her suspicions directly to the Children's Aid Society.  Click here for full letter.

Student Accident Insurance

The Halton Catholic District School Board doesnot provide accident insurance coverage for student injuries that occur on school premises or during school activities. Since accidents can happen, and some injuries result in medical, dental or other expenses that are not covered by provincial health care or employer group plans, as a parent, you may wish to consider purchasing student accident insurance.

Programs and services to help parentsstrengthen skills and knowledge

The Halton Parenting Directory is a comprehensive listing of parenting programs and workshops aimed at helping parents and other caregivers access learning, support and information. The directory covers September 2011 to January 2012. Printed copies will be distributed to families through school boards and community agencies mid-September.

Healthy Smiles Ontario

Healthy Smiles Ontario is a new low-income dental program for children 17 and under who do not have access to any form of dental coverage. If eligible, these children will get access to regular dental services at no cost.

The 36 local Public Health Units across Ontario are leading the program.  To deliver the program, they are working with local partners such as Community Health Centres, primary care providers, dentists, dental hygienists, hospitals, schools and universities.

The application process has two steps:

1. To see if you qualify, call ServiceOntario, INFOline at 1-866-532-3161.

2. Contact your local Public Health Unit to enroll.

The Public Health Unit can help with the application form and provide information about any documents families need to provide.

For more information and visit the Healthy Smiles Ontario website.
